A Handsome Punjabi hunk born in a Punjabi Sikh Family in West Bengal. He began his music training at a very young age and his love for music kept growing day after day.
Arijit’s Maternal Aunt use to sing Indian Classical Music and his Maternal Uncle use to play Tabla. His mother and grandmother as well use to sing.
He was an above average student in studies but had more inclination towards Music so his parents took the decision that Arijit Singh should get himself trained professionally into Music.
Trained himself under Rajendra Prasad Hazari and also learned Tabla their professionally.
In the year 2005, when Arijit’s Guru Rajendra Prasad Hazari insisted him to leave his hometown and participate in Fame Gurukul. He was only 18 years old. He came 6th in the same and was eliminated due to the audience polling.
Recognized and given a chance by Sanjay Leela Bansali in Sawariya, however his version of “Yun Shabnami” was removed later.
Later Arijit Singh participated in another reality show 10 ke 10 le gai dil and won. He invested the prize money of 1 million from the reality show in building his own recording studio. Arijit then started singing and composing music for ads and news channels.
Part of Arijit’s early career days he spent not as a singer but as a music programmer and music producer for many music directors such as “Shankar- Ehsaan-Loy” , Vishal – Shekhar, Pritam , Monty Sharma and many more.
The Ashiqui 2 era when Arijit was working with Pritam and started to sing for three movies, Crook, Golmal 3 and Action Replay, is when he started getting fame as a singer.
In 2011, one of the biggest hit of Arijit Singh was ” Phir Mohabatt Karne Laga” of the movie Murder 2. After that it is called the Arijit Era with “Rabaata” in Agent Vinod, and many many songs in the movie Cocktail, Players, Barfi, Shanghai, Aashiqui 2 and so on.
