First ever China to Tibet Bullet Train near Arunachal Pradesh was inaugurated ahead of the Centenary Celebrations

The very first China to Tibet Bullet train has been inaugurated ahead of the centenary celebrations of the Ruling Communist Party of China on 1st July. The Sichuan Tibet Railway of the Lhasa-Nyingchi section is of 435.5 km.

The construction of the China to Tibet bullet train, named as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway started in the year 2014.

Geographical Accuracy of the China to Tibet Bullet Train

The China to Tibet electric bullet train travels through the south eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, one of the world’s most geologically substantial and crowded areas.

The first ever China to Tibet electric train has started to function in the secluded Himalayan region of Tibet. The China to Tibet Electric train connects the provincial capital Lhasa with Nyingchi, a city in Medong region located near the border of Tibet which also happens to be close to Arunachal Pradesh. China has declared that the area of Arunachal Pradesh comes under the south of Tibet, but India has strictly dismissed those claims.

The China to Tibet electric train, named as Sichuan-Tibet railway starts from the capital of the Sichuan Province, Chengdu and enters into Tibet through Qamdo all the while travelling through Ya’an. The Line of Actual Control (LAC), which is 3,488 km in length, is covered by the India-China border.

Construction of the China to Tibet Bullet Train

The development of the China to Tibet Electric train began in 2014 and it has been delineated to travel at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

The electrification process of the China to Tibet Electric train has been accomplished and thoroughly evaluated according to the chief engineer of the Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway, Liu Yuxiang.

The President, Xi Jinping ordered the officials to accelerate the process of the construction of the China to Tibet Electric train in November, which connects Sichuan to Nyingchi.

  • The total time of journey from Chengdu to Lhasa has been shortened from 48 hours to 13 hours.
  • The China to Tibet Electric Train will play a vital part in protecting the border and maintaining its stability.

The director of the research department at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University, Qian Feng reported to the official daily Global Times regarding the China to Tibet Electric train that, “If a scenario of a crisis happens at the China-India border, the railway will provide a great convenience for China’s delivery of strategic materials.”

The China to Tibet Electric train, Sichuan-Tibet Railway is the second railway in the whole of Tibet, first being Qinghai Tibet Railway.
