Farhan Akhtar Celebrating his 50th Birthday!

Farhan Akhtar is not just an Indian Actor but also a film-maker, director, dialogue writer, Movie Writer, Singer, Song Writer. He celebrated his 50th Birthday in an intimate family birthday gathering. He had a lively midnight cake cutting ceremony at his Mumbai residence. Wife Shibani Dandekar, Father Javed Akhtar, Mother Shabana Azmi ,sister Zoya Akhter and her close friends were also part of the same.

Farhan Akhtar’s Early Life!

Born as the 2nd child to the Screen Writer Javed Akhter and Honey Irani. Zoya Akhtar is his elder sister. At a very early age his parents got divorced and he stayed with his father and his step Mother Shabana Azmi. His Mother was staying in their Bandra House raising their children.

Farhan studied in Manieckji Cooper School in Mumbai and then did a Law degree from HR College Mumbai. He is the grand son of the famous Urdu Poet “Jan Nisar Akhtar” and from his grandfather he has also got the taste and talent for Urdu Poetry. Known to be the Great Grandson of the Urdu poet “Muztar Khairabadi”, Farhan belongs to Khaurabad in Awadh which is present day in UP. Farhan Akhtar is also the first cousin of the choreographer Farah Khan and Director Sajid Khan.

 

Farhan Akhtar’s Love Life!

The Actor married his girlfriend Adhuna Bhabani after 3 years of dating in 2000. They both met during his directoral debut in “Dil Chata Hai” where Adhuna also started her Bollywood’s career as a Celebrity Hairstylist. The Couple has 2 daughters named Shakya and Akira. They filed for divorce in 2016 after 16 years of their marriage and then in 2017 their divorce got finalized. The Mother of her kids have the custody of both the daughters.

He then started dating VJ Shibani Dandekar in 2018 and the couple got married in their Khandala Farmhouse in a non religious ceremony on 19th Febuary 2022.

 

Farhan Akhtar’s Career Graph!

Farhan started his career into bollywood in 1991 as an apprentice in film distribution and direction of Yash Chopra’s “Lamhe”. Later he moved to a advertisement production house and worked there for atleast 3 years. He was only 17 then.

Before launching himself into the world of direction, he also assisted Pankaj Parashar as a director in the movie Himalay Putra in 1997.

Stepping into the world of Direction

Director Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut with the movie “Dil Chahat Hai” which was known to be the most advance, romantic and coming of the age drama of its time. He himself had written the story of the movie. This brought a New Wave in the Indian Cinema. From his very first movie as a director, he was just Invincible giving hits one after the other. He has written the English Lyrics of Hollywood version of Bride and Prejudice names ” Balle Balle Amritsar to LA”.

He also had few failures as a director like “Lakshya” and remake of “Don” to which he says if i wouldn’t have failed , I wouldn’t have learnt. He is known to be learning from his failure and mistakes and takes every aspect of his life and career very seriously.

The Director has given so many Movies which we relate to each and everyday and love watching it again and again like, Don 2, The King is Back.

Taking a Step towards Acting and Singing together

In 2008 Farhan Akhtar first started his acting with the movie “Rock On” which turned out to be a Great Movie and most importantly the youth liked it. The he did “Luck By Chance” directed by his sister Zoya Akhtar. Not just Bollywood commercial Movies, Farhan Akhtar also acter in some short films too.

The Actor Farhan Akhtar has been in many movies like Karthik Calling Karthik, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bhag Milkha Bhag, Dil Dhadakne Do, Wazir and many more.
