Rajinikanth Early Life
Born on 12th December 1950 to a Marathi family in Bangalore. His actual name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. His Father Ramoji Rao Gaekwad was a police constable and his mother was a housewife. He has three siblings, one sister-Aswath Balubhai and two elder brothers Satyanarayana Rao and Nageshwara Rao. He is the youngest in the family. His Forefthwrs belong to Pune City and he lived in the suburbs of Hanuman Nagar in Bangalore after his dad’s retirement. He lost his mother when he was nine and being the youngest in the family, he has very few memories of hers. He went to Gavipuran Government Kanada Model Primary School and later he was enrolled in the Ramakrishna Mission where he learned about the Vedas. He started acting in the plays at the Math and was given an opportunity to be Eklavya’s Friend.
Rajinikanth Film Career
He started his Film Career with the director K. Balachander and played the role of an abusive husband in the movie Apoorva Rangarai against Srividya. The film turned out to be controversial after release but it also won 3 National Film Awards. Director Balachander also caster him in other movies which were the remake of the Telugu movie into Tamil like Aval Oru Thodar Kathai. He gained popularity with the movie Moondru Mudichu and his style of flipping the cigarette made him more popular. From there his actual Film Carrer started and then he gave blockbusters after blockbusters. He also started acting as a lead actor in the Telugu films like Chilakamma Cheppindi. He was the only Southindian Actor who first started shooting outside India, mostly in Southeast Asia.
His Inspiration is Legendary Amitabh Bacchan, and he started acting in the remakes of Amitabh Bachan’s movies in Tamil and made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Andha Kanoon, alongside Amitabh Bachan and Hema Malini . From then he has done almost 118 Bollywood movies like Chaalbazz, Shivaji the boss, Atank he Atank, Darbar, Uttar Dakshin, Khoon ka Karz, Insaniyat ke Devta, Robot with Aishwarya Rai, Robot 2.0, Kabali, Hum and many more.
Rajinikanth’s Awards and Achievements
Our Versatile Actor has won 6 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards out of which 4 for Best Actor, and 2 special awards for Best Actor. He has also won the Filmfare Best Tamil Actor Award. He is also honored by the Government of India with Padma Bhushan in the year 2000 and with Padma Vibushan in the year 2016. He was awarded the title and award of “Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year” in the 45th International Film Festival of India. And he will be awarded the honour of “Icon of Golden Jubilee Award” in the 50th edition. He has also received the Chevalier Shivaji Ganeshan Award for excellent Cinema at the 4th Vijay Awards.

Thalaivaa’s Political Career:
Rajinikanth no only is an actor, producer, and screenwriter but also a Politician. He supported the DMK and TMC alliances and many a time asked his people of Tamil Nadu and his fans to vote for that alliance. In 1996, the alliance got a complete victory and he also supported the alliance in the parliamentary election held in the same year.
In 2004, Rajnikanth did announce that he will be personally voting for BJP-Bhartiya Janta Party but will not give any support to the upcoming Indian General Election, however, the party failed to win any seats at Tamil Nadu. Our Thalaivaa has announced his entry to Politics in December 2017 and he aspires to run the election in 2021,i.e. the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assemble Elections in all 234 constituencies. He also stated that he will resign from his party in case he is not able to fulfill its electoral promises within 3 years of coming into power.
Rajinikanth Hospitalization and Returns:
January 2011, he was working for a movie Rana, and during the periodic shooting of the film, he suffered mild illness on the set where he got symptoms like dehydration, vomiting, and exhaustion. He was then taken to the St. Isabel‘s Hospital for a day. 5 days later he was rushed to the very same hospital due to breathlessness and fever and there he was diagnosed with bronchitis and he got himself treated for a week. He resealed a 4-minute video for his fans of him being getting healthy and for his fans not to worry and thanks for the love and support. After taking the advice of Amitabh Bachan, he went to Chennai and from there to Singapore to get himself treated for nephropathy at Mount Elizebeth Hospital. He was discharged then on 15th June 2011 and returned back to India in July 2011.
