Antivirus Entrepreneur John Mcafee’s Death In Spanish Prison Hours After The Approval Of His Extradition

Hours after the approval of John David McAfee’s extradition to the United States on tax charges, John McAfee’s death took place in the Spanish prison. John McAfee was wanted in the US due to tax related criminal charges pressed on him. The charges carried a prison sentence up to 30 years.

The apparent cause of the 75 year old entrepreneur turned felon, John McAfee’s death as reported by Catalonia’s regional police force, the Mossos d’Esquadra, was suicide. A report from the Catalina Justice Department states that the prison officers and the paramedics tried to save his life but all their efforts went to vain.

The statement precisely read, “Judicial staff have been dispatched to the prison and are investigating the causes of death, everything points to death by suicide.”

On Wednesday evening, the Reuters news agency was informed by McAfee’s lawyer about John McAfee’s death, allegedly due to him hanging himself in his prison cell.

Tax offenses leading up to John McAfee’s death

McAfee was charged on the grounds of evading taxes by the Tennessee prosecutors after he failed to report the income that he made from promoting crypto currencies whilst also doing consultancy. He also did the same with the amount he earned from speaking engagements and trading the rights to his life history for the purpose of a documentary.

The creator of McAfee virus software, John McAfee was apprehended in the October of 2020 at Barcelona’s international airport while trying to board a flight to Istanbul. The 75 year old’s arrest came into action after a US indictment rooting from alleged tax offenses had been made public by the authorities.

On Wednesday, Spain’s highest court approved McAfee’s extradition to the United States, however the extradition was left to be appealed and approved by the Spanish Cabinet. The ruling read, “The court agrees to grant the extradition of John David McAfee as requested by the American judicial authorities for the crimes referred to in the tax offense indictments for years 2016 to 2018”. Hours after the approval, John McAfee’s death took place in his cell.

After making a fortune in the 1980’s with his software, McAfee resolved to extreme erratic behaviours. He claimed to be a self styled crypto currency guru who made 2000 dollars per day. After resigning from his own company in 1994, the company tried to stay clear of its reckless founder as much as possible.

In 2010, McAfee was purchased by Intel for $7.7bn. In 2016 Intel turned their cyber security unit into a new company called McAfee.

McAfee’s personal life was just as rushing as his professional one. He made long runs for the US presidency twice and was also a participant in Librarian party presidential debates in 2016. Whilst being engaged in all these, he also dived into yoga, ultra – light aircraft and manufacture of herbal medicines.

McAfee was known for telling conspiracy stories on social media. He became the prime suspect for the murder of a neighbour in 2012 which still remains unsolved. The police found him living with a 17 year old girl and uncovered a lot of weaponry in his Central American country home. Following the murder, McAfee disappeared which grabbed a lot of attention from the media. McAfee later released a statement mentioning that he was completely oblivious to the murder and suspected that he was the intended target of the crime.

• In the year 2015, McAfee was arrested in the US for driving under the influence and for possessing a gun whilst being under the influence.
• McAfee was released from detention in the Dominican Republic in July 2019, after he was accused of travelling on a yacht carrying high calibre weaponry, arms and ammunitions and military gear.
• In March he was charged for a pump and dump scheme by the Manhattan Federal Court which involved crypto currencies being promoted by him to his vast social media followers.

He said that the number would’ve been quite less had DNA testing been a thing while he was growing up. The Q is believed to be a probable remark about QAnon, which happens to be a groundless conspiracy theory that there sustains a hidden world order of satanic pedophiles which is being combated in confidence by Donald Trump.
