Rishi Kapoor’s Endless Journey
Early Life
Born as the 2nd son to Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj kapoor on 4th of September,1952. He was a Virgo by his start sign although his family did not belive in all this. He studied at Champions school, Mumbai and completed his Graduation from Mayo College Ajmer. He had 4 siblings, Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Late Rima Jain. His full name is Rishi Raj Kapoor also known as Chintu by his family members.
Film Career
Born into a Film Industry Family, he never though he would be an actor. He first acted in a song in his father’s Movie Shree 420 and debut as a child actor in Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker which was not a hit in the beginning but later picked up its pace. He made his adult debut from a block buster movie “Bobby”. But this movie was never made to launch Rishi Kapoor but was actually made to pay off the debts of the Movie” Mera Naam Joker” After his first Movie, his career took a flight and he was the Classic Romantic Hero of the Indian Cinema for over more than three decades. His Famous work includes,” Kabhi Kabhi”, “Karz”,”Rafoo Chakkar”,”Chandani”,”Amar Akbar Anthony”,”Prem RogHeena”,”Laila Majnu”,”Naseeb”,”Damini”. He has worked with most of the bolloywood actress of his times like Neetu Singh,Sri Devi, Padmini Kohlapuri, Dimple Kapadia,Tina Ambani, Juhi Chawala,Vahida Rahman, Poonam Dhillon, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit. He not only worked with his era’s actresses but also with the young actresses in like,Deepika padukone,Kajol, Aishwarya Rai,Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Rani Mukherjee in the movies like “Aa Ab Laut Chale”, “Agnipath”,”Love Aaj kal”,”Student of the Year”,”Hum Tum”. He also acted with his son Ranbir Kapoor in the Movie “Besharam”.
Family Love of Rishi Kapoor
As we all know the Actor was globally known by his Nick Name “Chintu”, although he dinnot like the nick name and he once tweeted expressing his struggle to establish his name as Rishi Kapoor. He also did not give any Nick Names to his Children Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani. The nick name Chintu which was given to Rishi Kapoor was from a poen his elder brother Randhir Kapoor read in his school.
He is Married to Actress Neetu Kapoor. They started datin after the movie Kabhi Kbhi. He realized he is in love with the actress after he was done with the shooting of Kabhi Kabhi and was shooting for another film outside Mumbai and sent her a Telegram” Sikhni Badi Yaad Andi Hai” and Neetu Singh was shooting for another film when she got this telegram and was astonished to see what was written. But when they met, the Actor made it clear that he only wants to date Neetu Singh and cannot promise to get married and later their eternal love was overwhelming and ended up getting married to each other.
His Endless Love for Food
Rishi Kapoor being from the Punjabi-Hindu Family of Kapoors, was always a foodie and use to never compromise on his binge. He was always known for his endless love for food in his friend circle. Even till the last his staff at the hospital revealed his unmatched love for food. George Bernard once said”There is no love sincerer than Love of food” and our very own Rishi Kapoor proved him right better than anyone else. He always had a different love for his very own Punjabi stuffed parathas with Makhan Dahi and achar. One gets water when we think about this and same was the case with Mr. Rishi Kapoor. His life always centered around food even at his movie sets although he was always interested in having a healthy breakfast but the aroma of paarthas always distracted him being the true Punjabi at heart. Reports revealed that at the set of Housefull 2 he saw few do the crew members digging into parathas and he couldn’t stop himself and started having food with them and later when the director Sajid Nadiawala started the shoot with several retakes, Rishi Kapoor found it difficult and the shoot had to be concelled.
Now comes the Love for eating out, like every other foodie, Rishi Kapoor also never stopped himself from eating food outside. There is a Saying if someone wants to know where Rishi kapoor was when he was not shooting was defiantly spending time with his family and friends at a restaurant. He was always keen on trying new cuisines and tied them not only from fancy restaurants but also trying the Local Fares.
Coming to his favorite food, he couldn’t actually decide ever what his favorite food was. But he always mentioned some of the dishes closed to his heart were Yakhani Pulao, Dal Fry, Traditional Fish Fry Palak Paneer prepared by his Mom. He was very fond of the Parsi Akodi and Chinese food and many a times he was spotted vising many Chinese food outlets in Mumbai.
Well Well Well, One knows a Punjabi is known for his capacity of Drinking and yummy Non-Vegetarian food. Rishi Kapoor , The Punjbai at heart Actor was very fond of Whiskey and was always spotted in Many Parties and Restaurants with a Whiskey Glass and a Bright smile on his face. We May Not be able to see the Smile again but he defiantly taught us how to live life to the fullest and every situation can be happy if you want it to be happy.
His Journey to the Core
The Man who was bubbly and Lively as life itself could not be rendered silent by fate. We have always known him for his remarkable performances as an actor and for his one liners, incomparable fashion sense of his time. Even his family revealed that he always kept his medical staff in the hospital entertained till the last. After Irrfan Khan death, He was admitted into the Hospital on 30th April,2020 and soon after his admission, the news came that he is no more. It was first revealed by Amitabh Bachchan on twitter and later the news was confirmed by Rishi Kapoor’s brother Randhir Kapoor. Son Ranbir Kapoor, Actress Alia Bhatt were at the Hospital with the Family and daughter Ridhima Kapoor took special permission from Ministry of Home Affairs to travel from Delhi to Mumbai where as ,Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan,Abhishek Bachchan were the people to reach first at the hospital to be with family.
With this I will conclude by saying a dialogue from Rishi Kapoor’s Movie Love Aaj Kal that “Jane se Phale Ek Baar Milna Zaruri Kyu Hota Hai?” As he is not with us, and all of us are shocked to hear this new today morning but he will always be alive in our heart and his lovely work.
